Can’t wait to see what you fellas come up with next time around. Still, I’m always appreciative of an Arctic Monkeys concert. If only! That would’ve been so purr-fect. It felt like I should be listening to the Arctic Monkeys perform in a cabaret lounge. I do dig on the new tracks off Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino. The songs were a definite departure from the rest of their albums, with its Bowie-esque, mellow, lush, spacey, lounge lizard feel. Star Treatment sees frontman and songwriter Alex Turner looking back at his teenage. And yes, it has plentiful top 40 bangers on it, namely R U Mine?, Do I Wanna Know?, Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?, One for the Road, Arabella, and Snap Out of It, but I don’t think it’s their best album. The song that leads off the latest Arctic Monkeys album, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, is quite a statement. Sure, it’s their most commercial album to date, breaking through North American charts. Musically, they can do no wrong, however, (and I may be in the minority here), their AM album is not my favourite. I love his The Last Shadows Puppets side project with Miles Kane. The Arctic Monkeys return to Vancouver! One of my favourite bands ever, debuting songs from their most recent album, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino.
